This ready-to-run Python script connects to your sales database, extracts daily transaction records, and transforms raw data into a comprehensive dashboard-ready format. It applies your custom business rules, such as region-based aggregates and product-category breakouts, to ensure you get the insights you need. The script then uses ReportLab to generate a multi-page PDF with branded headers, charts, and tables. An alternative output mode exports to Excel with formatted worksheets and pivot tables pre-configured. Scheduling is built-in via a cron-compatible wrapper, so you can run the script hourly or daily without manual intervention. Detailed inline comments and a configuration file make it easy to adjust database credentials, report filters, and styling options. Error-handling routines email you if data sources are unreachable or if the output file fails to write. A companion README guides you through installation, environment setup, and deployment on AWS Lambda.
